Born and raised in Portland, I went to school first for computer science and then for biology, which grew into a love for genetics, ecology, and mycology. Beyond volunteering, I spend a lot of my time hiking, foraging, and motocamping as far as my 13kWh battery can take me. I like to try new things and work with the materials I find around me, collecting ivy and cattails for basket weaving or fungi for dyes, and I do a lot of my artistic work with wild clay.

My first experience working with clay was using the stuff I dug out of my own backyard, certainly not the best even after decanting and levigation, but it was exactly what I needed to make something with my hands after mostly sculpting in CAD software. I then saved up to take a class at PCC and got myself a bag of Kristy Lombard white clay from Georgies, which almost certainly still lives on in my cycle of reclaim to this day. After that class, I kept exploring new clay bodies, both purchased and foraged, and I started selling my ceramics in cafes and gift shops across town.
